Location

GPS losing satellite reception, or a location coder in a device falling back to inaccurate methods, can mean that a latitude-longitude pair half a mile out gets recorded with a photo.

Heading

An electronic compass can be affected by large amounts of magnetic material or electric activity nearby, such as steel-framed buildings or powerlines. In severe cases any heading recorded is useless.
