geo:lat_long (tag)
From SnapMap
(Redirected from Latitude and longitude)
geo:latlong=<latitude>,<longitude> is a simple way to express the position of a camera in a single tag in terms of latitude and longitude. As with most online geographic services, latitude and longitude are assumed to be in the WGS84 coordinate system.
The latitude and longitude can also be separated into two tags:
- geo:lat=<latitude>
- geo:long=<longitude>
– but SnapMap admins may replace such a pair with a single geo:lat_long.
Currently, the SnapMap image cache only processes values stored as decimal degrees, and values in degrees, minutes and seconds will not parse correctly.
The names geo:lat_long, geo:lat and geo:long are also used in Flickr and other places. Unlike Flickr, it is not recommended to add a geotagged tag to indicate that a photo has been geotagged.
